The use of honey in cosmetology

In past reviews, I tried to answer the most frequently asked questions of our partners and customers, namely why we at Medusha chose the acacia honey, what healthy properties it has, and shared a dozen recipes of traditional medicine with acacia honey and beeswax, both gifts of nature used in Medusha jars producing to get the tasty gift with a Ukrainian soul.

Today I’m going to talk about another use of the best among other existing varieties, the acacia honey, namely, put into practice in cosmetology due to its antimicrobial and a number of other qualities.

Since the dawn of time, acacia honey has been used in cosmetology as an ingredient in masks and scrubs for skin and hair care, as well as to keep a nail structure healthy. For circulatory problems, cellulite, excess weight or puffiness, honey massage with essential oils gives a surprisingly good effect.

Taking into account the fact that white acacia honey is about sugar-free, it is actively used in various cosmetic procedures nourishing the skin with useful microelements. To rejuvenate dry skin you can prepare the following masks:

  • mix in equal proportions acacia honey with olive oil;
  • mix a tablespoon of honey and sour cream with two oils ones.

Both are buffered on the face for 10 minutes and washed off with warm water.

Honey mask mixed with egg white helps with problems with oily skin, rinsed off 20 minutes after putting on with warm water. A few more recipes for your body and face:

  • for dry skin, mix 5 tablespoons of acacia honey, 2 tablespoons of rose oil and 2 cups of almond oil, massage it on the body;
  • Mix 3 teaspoons of honey, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, 3 tablespoons of almond powder and rub into your face with light movements, rinse with warm water.

Also, you may gift your skin by using a teaspoon of acacia honey per litre of water when washing, it nourishes the skin, improves colour and relieves irritation and inflammation. Since acacia honey is an excellent moisturizer, it is also used as an additional ingredient in shampoos, balms and conditioners.

The following acacia honey hair mask is also effective:

  • mix half a glass of honey and a quarter of olive oil and spread over the entire hair length for half an hour, wash it off with warm water and shampoo;
  • against dandruff: before washing your hair, make a 10% solute of honey to the scalp and after 3 hours rinse it with warm water and shampoo. If you manage to repeat it every day for 2 weeks, then you forget what dandruff is for a long time.

Also in cosmetology, beekeeping products are used to get rid of boils and abscesses, a compress soaked in a solution of one tablespoon of honey in a glass of linden blossom broth is applied to them for half an hour.
